Worldham Parish Council
PROPOSAL FOR INSTALLATION OF A FIXED WIRELESS BROADBAND SERVICE
IN KINGSLEY AND WORLDHAM
Worldham Parish is low on the list of priorities for upgrading of broadband service provision by BT under the government’s broadband roll out programme. Under this scheme it is unlikely that we will see any improvement in the broadband service in our area before 2018 or beyond.
In view of this and the poor availability of broadband in many parts of the parish, Worldham Parish Council is currently in discussions with an independent provider, Pine Media, for installation of a fixed wireless broadband service which it is hoped will provide a much faster broadband service to our parishioners.
This is a project which has been initiated by Kingsley Parish Council but can be extended to include Worldham and surrounding villages. In fact, Pine Media are suggesting that the transmission mast would best be placed somewhere on the top of Worldham Hill to provide optimum coverage for the area.
Details of the proposal are contained in the accompanying document ‘Potential Broadband Solution for Kingsley and Surrounding Villages’. Details for registering your interest are contained in this document. Please note that the performance information and costs given in this document have been provided by Pine Media. The Parish Council is not in a position to confirm or endorse the information or offers from any supplier for the provision of broadband infrastructure. It is up to residents themselves to assess whether this offer from Pine Media meets their needs (and the risks involved) and make their own decisions on whether to express an interest or not.
