The Parish Council is funded through the Council Tax paid by residents of Aythorpe Roding.  Each year the council undertakes a budget setting process which begins in the autumn, during which time the anticipated income and expenditure for the following year is calculated and reviewed.  The amount received by the Parish Council is calculated each year by way of a budget setting process. This process takes into account the statutory commitments the Parish Council has to its residents as well as upcoming projects, and arrives at a figure known as the precept. The final budget is approved by the Parish Council by the end of February and the figure required to be collected as part of the Council Tax – known as the Precept – is set.  The Parish Council Precept for 2026/2027 has been increased and set at £8,000.

The Council Tax paid by the residents of the parish of Aythorpe Roding is collected by Uttlesford District Council.
