No.1 Flying Training School, based at RAF Shawbury, will be conducting essential night flying training from Monday 15th November 2021 for approximately 5 weeks. Crews will operate from RAF Shawbury throughout Low Flying Area 9, covering Shropshire and the borders of adjacent counties.

No.1 Flying Training School trains and prepares the next generation of helicopter aircrew ready for frontline service in the Royal Navy, British Army and the Royal Air Force. Night flying is an essential skill needed for front-line operations, enabling Aircrew to operate in the dark. Aircrew will train using Night Vision Devices, like those used on operations in hostile environments and for supporting emergencies in the UK and abroad.

We are extremely grateful for the continued support shown by the local community while we carry out this essential training.
