Also on Tuesday, our men played host, in the evening, to Canterbury, in the Forrest of Blean league. The rain held off to everyone’s relief. Canterbury fielded a strong side including county players, seeing off Boughton by 118 to 79.

Thursday and Boughton hosted Whitstable in a Catherine Wheeler match. The close-run match was played in good spirits by both sides, and in warm dry conditions. Boughton 86, Whitstable 91. So, 6 points to Boughton, 11 to Whitstable.
