Brenda Bird

It is with regret that we have to report the passing of Brenda Bird. Brenda and Steve, her husband, moved into Derbyshire several years and both have enjoyed playing in the county. Last Saturday (27th June) Brenda passed peacefully away after a relatively short fight with ill health. In a previous life she held high administrative positions in English Badminton - being instrumental in updating their procedures for members. It was not long before she began to help Derbyshire Womens Bowls Association in important positions. Soon she was acting as Ladies Secretary & Treasurer and the Ladies Delegate to Bowls England. This commitment to the county also showed in her commitment to playing bowls, initially at Derby West End BC and more latterly at Castle Donnington BC. She will be sadly missed.
