Voter Identification Requirements
Residents voting in person at polling stations are required to show valid photographic identification before being issued with a ballot paper.
Accepted forms of ID include:
- UK, European Economic Area (EEA) or Commonwealth passport
- UK, EEA or Commonwealth driving licence
- Certain concessionary travel passes (e.g. older person’s bus pass)
Expired ID may still be used if the photograph remains recognisable.
If you do not have an accepted form of ID, you can apply for a free Voter Authority Certificate.
