Public Art Project
Public Art in Brize Norton
Brize Norton has an exciting opportunity to create a Public Art Project focused on the betterment of our community and cultural wellbeing. This initiative is funded through the S106 Public Art Fund from the Brize Meadow development by Bloor Homes Ltd.
Public Art is intended to enhance the quality, distinctiveness, and heritage of our parish. We aim to use art to connect people with each other, our green spaces, and the environment, while fostering creativity, innovation, and community engagement.
Committee
A voluntary committee has been formed to guide the project and engage the community. Meetings are held in the Elder Bank Hall meeting room.

How You Can Get Involved
We welcome ideas from individuals, children, and community groups for art projects. There will be opportunities to:
- Share your thoughts via email
- Participate in online surveys as the project develops
- Join interactive walks, treasure hunts, and other community activities
Your creativity will help shape art projects that connect our green spaces with the community, promote wellbeing, and celebrate Brize Norton’s unique character.
Our Green Spaces
We are fortunate to have a growing network of accessible green spaces:
- Mary Ellis Country Park
- Village green for Brize Meadow
- Footpaths and nature trails connecting the parish
Engaging in these spaces—through walking, play, exercise, and creativity—enhances our connection with the environment and our community.
Plans for Community Engagement
- Interactive map for individual responses
- Updates in each Brize Breeze newsletter
- Artist-led walkabouts to explore green spaces
- Treasure hunt-style activities across the parish
We are at the beginning of our journey to enhance Brize Norton through art and look forward to exploring ideas with villagers across the parish.
