DOG OWNERS – PLEASE TAKE CARE

We have received a report from a local dog owner whose dog became unwell while being walked in Dymchurch over the past few days. The owner believes the dog may have eaten something while in the Recreation Ground at St Mary’s Road and has told us that other dog owners have reported similar experiences.

At this stage, we do not know what may have caused the illness and there is no confirmed evidence of anything harmful being present in the Recreation Ground.

As a sensible precaution, we are asking dog owners to keep an eye on their pets while walking and, where possible, prevent them from eating anything they find on the ground.

If you notice anything unusual, such as discarded food, substances or other material that could potentially be harmful to dogs, please let us know so that it can be investigated.

We have also contacted the Environmental Health team at Folkestone & Hythe District Council to make them aware of the reports and to seek any appropriate advice.

There is no need to be alarmed, but please take sensible precautions and keep an eye on your dogs. If you have experienced anything similar or have noticed anything unusual in the area, please get in touch.
