Council Audit

THE AUDIT PROCESS

Each year the Council is subject to an audit. This takes place usually in May each year. The first stage is to appoint an Independent internal Auditor who reviews the management and handling of public funds. The Auditor also reviews our website and other matters concerning risk.

The second stage is an external audit where a company appointed by Central Government reviews the comments from the Independent internal Auditor and reviews all the figures to ensure that any rises or falls in income and expenditure are explained
