Local Government Reorganisation in Kent and Medway Consultation
Lenham Parish Council
The Consultation on the Proposals for Local Government Reorganisation in Kent and Medway is a UK Government public consultation seeking views on plans to replace Kent’s current two-tier council system (county council plus district/borough councils) with a smaller number of single-tier “unitary” councils responsible for all local services. Medway already operates as a unitary authority, but new proposals would reorganise council structures across the wider Kent area. Residents, businesses and organisations are invited to comment on the different proposals before the Government makes a final decision.
