Parish Caretaker
16 hours per week
(some flexibility for the right candidate)
Fixed Term Contract for 12 months
Lenham Parish Council is seeking a practical and dependable Parish Caretaker to help care for and maintain our rural parish and surrounding countryside.
Main duties include:
- Clearing gullies and drains
- Cutting back overhanging vegetation
- Minor maintenance and cleaning of benches, village signs, noticeboards and bus shelters
- Reporting of larger defects to the clerk or relevant authorities
- Seasonal tasks (e.g. leaf clearance)
- Ad hoc office cover
The successful applicant will:
- Enjoy working outdoors in a rural environment and in all weathers
- Be self-motivated, reliable, and able to work without supervision
- Be physically fit
- Hold a full driving licence (essential for rural locations)
Hours & Pay:
- 16 hours per week on average, with seasonal flexibility
- Hours may increase during spring and summer and reduce during winter, by agreement
- Pay: £16.35 - £18.85 per hour - NJC pay scales 18-25 (dependent on experience)
