MINUTES OF MEETING HELD

  6. MATTERS ARISING:
    1. Crepe Van trading update, Mr. De Muschamp addressed the meeting on his proposed new enterprise, and all hygiene and insurance documents were in place, for the sale of crepes and waffles. It was agreed to have the sale of produce from 6.00 pm – 8.00 pm on Thursday evenings but not on “show weekend”
    2. All litter and rubbish to be picked up at end of sale by the vendor. To operate for a trial period of six weeks. Certificates and copies of Liability Insurance to be passed to clerk.
    3. Recreation ground “rewilding” this was mentioned at the previous meeting and albeit it was something a lot of councils were trialling, to date this had not been a success, as mentioned at Langley Moor and Harperley roundabout. Agreed not to allocate additional space for “rewilding”. but to continue mowing. As to the request to plant cherry trees, this was deferred to the next meeting.
    4. Litter picking, the necessary equipment was now to hand and Mr. Buckle was looking for storage facilities to house the equipment as well as additional support from Wolsingham Comp. Cllr. Savory had passed his request to the school., for volunteers.
    5. Angate Toilets had recently been shotblasted (free of charge) Cllr. Savory asked that a letter of thanks be sent to the operator Finlay Shotblasting. Agreed
  7. CORRESPONDENCE:
    1. Mr. C. Tombs, appreciation for Mrs. A. Savory in organising a meeting with Insp. Turner from Durham Constabulary, which had been very informative.
    2. Development at Durham Road Believe Housing Name for development, suggested Shaw’s Field or Meadow.
    3. Beavers request to plant a tree in recreation ground for Jubilee, agreed, tree to be planted adjacent to Princess Diana Memorial Tree
    4. CDALC nominations for executive Committee, from Weardale PC’s Cllr. A. Savory agreed to represent Wolsingham P.C.
    5. A letter regarding the Parish Council’s response to the Jubilee had been received via the Town Crier. Mr. Sugden had prepared a response outlining the support given to organisations and their appreciation of the support. As to the Union Jack not being raised, this had been an oversight regarding the safe erection.
  8. FOOTPATH: Alleged Footpath Leazes DMMO Highways Comm. Report 22nd May 2022, this was a positive step forward but it could well be some time before the path is added to the definitive map as there may be an appeal and could go to a public enquiry.
  9. MARKET PLACE: Annual Fair 2nd September – 5th September 2022, agreed to meet with fair operator Monday 4th July 11.00 am at the Town Hall.
  10. ALLOTMENT TREES:
    1. Planning Permission applied for DM/22/01451TCA, DCC raise no objections
    2. Bat Survey: Barrett Environmental Ltd. awaiting survey report
  11. RECREATION GROUND: East boundary wall adjoining Mill Race ownership lies with residents of Mill Race albeit some ivy needs removing on recreation ground side.
  12. CLERK RETIREMENT: Future Planning / Draft Advert and Job Description Agreed to advertise post on website, Northern Echo Town Crier, AAP.and CDALC. with a closing date of 29th July.

    2. Report on cheques for payment to be included on website, with personal details redacted.
    3. To create a separate bank account for sinking fund (Skate Park)

  14.  PLANNING:  DECIDED: Cllr. Savory declared a Declaration of Interest as she is a member of the South West Durham planning committee.
