Bomere Heath & District Parish Council
Charitable Donations
This year the Parish Council gave £1,243.00 to the charities listed below.
We have been advised that 5% of our precept total (money raised by tax and given to the parish council) should be the upper level of our charitable giving. In other words, based on our current precept this would indicate a maximum total of £935.00 a year should be given to charity. Most parish councils have a blanket ‘No’ to donations to charities as they feel it is easier to say no to everyone than have to judge whether one charity is more deserving than another.
We asked everyone for their opinion on this matter in our 2017 Have Your Say! CLP questionnaire the results showed a strong support for the current level of charitable giving.
