MEETING DATES 2022
As from 13 December 2021, the government introduced extra Band B measures in response to the emergence of the Omicron variant and the “credible risk” it presents to the NHS. These measures aim to slow the growth of this new variant and buy time for COVID-19 booster jabs to be rolled out.
Accordingly, if it's in the interest of public safety not to hold a public meeting, the Parish Council can discharge Council functions (under 101 of the Local Government Act 1972) to the Clerk (who is the Proper Officer and Responsible Financial Officer) in accordance with the Scheme of Delegation adopted and activated on 25 May 2021.
** Update**: During Wednesday January 5th session of Prime Minister’s Questions (PMQs) Mr Johnson revealed that all Plan B rules will be removed in England by Thursday January 27. Mandatory wearing of face coverings for indoor venues will no longer be in force although the Government is still advising individuals to wear face coverings in enclosed or crowded spaces, particularly when meeting strangers.
**Update** The Prime Minister announced that England would be removing all remaining COVID-19 legal restrictions from Thursday 24 February.

The change in legislation permitting local Councils to convene remotely using video conference technology has now expired, meaning after 06 May 2021 it is no longer permitted to convene remotely.
This presents local councils with a dilemma:-
- before 19 July (delayed from 21 June) it is not permitted to meet indoors with anybody you do not live with unless you have formed a support bubble with them. To do so you face a fine of up to £10,000
- to find a suitable venue where councillors and members of the public may meet safely socially distanced would incur significant additional costs.
NALC has issued the following statement: Each council will have to decide which course of action will best fit their needs and manage risks.
Bramshaw Parish Council are currently considering the best course of action to fit the needs. The Village Hall is not available following storm damage and will be undergoing extensive repairs for some time. The health and welfare of its Councillors and members of the public is paramount.
During this period, a Scheme of Delegation has been adopted and activated setting out the Terms of Reference by which the discharge of Council functions (under 101 of the Local Government Act 1972) to the Clerk (who is the Proper Officer and Responsible Financial Officer) will operate.
