The Village Community Group is a valuable contribution to the Parish and consists largely of local volunteers helping out with various fund raising events, maintenance and project works within the community. The group was an innovation suggested by a parishoner to work alongside the Parish Council to support the maintenance of the village. A Village Task Force forms part of the group. In the summer of 2023 a hard working group of volunteers gave up a day to paint the fencing around the children’s play area in the Playing Field on Apple Tree Lane. Other maintenance tasks include two days litter picking across the village a year, the clearing of ivy on the village green wall, and the clearing of conkers from the Green in the autumn.

The Village Community Group are always keen to recruit new volunteers who are prepared to give of their time on an occasional basis. If you would like to get involved please email CommunityGroup@claydon.org.uk
