President v Devon Colts (Madeira 29/10/17)

This is the third occasion on which this fixture has taken place, this time with the Colts playing under their new name.

It was again a very close match resulting in a win for the President, the President winning on two rinks by a small margin and losing on one rink.

The Colts bowled extremely well and are force to be reckoned with. The match was played in a good spirit, and was enjoyed by all with lots of banter.

It is the President's wish that future Presidents will continue with this fixture for many years to come.

Liberty Trophy

On Saturday 28th October at ISCA IBC Devon started their defence of EIBA County Liberty Trophy v Dorset, this was a very hard fought contest. With the scores at 5 ends being 28 - 30, then at 10 ends 57 - 55 and all square at 15 ends 86 all, then came a Devon surge to go 109 - 93 at 18 ends and finishing the match at 128 - 101. This certainly was a grind out performance at times very scrappy but at the end of the day it's all about the result.

Next round is on Saturday 16th December away to Cornwall or Somerset

Thursday 14th September 2017 at Madeira

The weather was not kind to us with some very heavy rain showers so in the end we only played 18 ends, it was a very good game with the scores being very close with DCIBA running out winners the score being 114 (DCIBA) to 107  (Bowls Devon).

May I thank all the rinks who supported at this match.
