To allow carriageway patching and preservation works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on various roads in Swale.

This Order takes effect on or after 9 March 2020 for a period of up to 18 months or until works have been completed. Planned dates will be published in advanced of the works on one.network and indicated by signage displayed on site 14 days before they start.

This programme is subject to weather and other factors and may therefore change; every effort will be made to keep as close as to the programmed dates and durations. Changes will be notified locally and signposted on site.

SCHEDULE

Road Closures

The Street, Christophers Row and Doddington Lane, Lynsted with Kingsdown/Doddington

The road will be closed between The Vallance to Down Court Road for up to 2 days between the hours of 07:00 and 19:00.

The alternative route is via Chequers Hill, The Street, Faversham Road and A2 London Road.

A2 London Road, Newington

The road will be closed between Southbush Lane to Newington High Street for up to 5 days between the hours of 07:00 and 19:00.

The alternative route is via A249 Maidstone Road, M2 between Junction 5 to Junction 4, Hoath Way, A2 London Road and vice versa.

Stalisfield Road, Ospringe

The road will be closed between Scooks Hill and Throwley Road for up to 2 days between the hours of 07:00 and 19:00.

The alternative route is via Eastling Road, Scooks Hill and Stalisfield Road.

Lower Road, Teynham

The road will be closed from Frognal Lane to Station Road for up to 2 days between the hours of 07:00 and 19:00.

The alternative route is via Frognal Road, A2 Canterbury Road and Station Road.

Bagshill Road, Sheldwich

The road will be closed from Parsonage Stock Road to A251 Ashford Road for up to 2 days between the hours of 07:00 and 19:00.

The alternative route is via Parsonage Stocks Green and Old Badgins Road.

Cherry Drive and Luddenham Road, Luddenham

The road will be closed from the junction with Luddenham Church Road to Bysingwood Road for up to 2 days between the hours of 07:00 and 19:00.

There is no alternative route for this closure.

Eastling Road and Whitehill, Painters Forstal

The road will be closed between Plumford Lane to Scots Lane for up to 2 days between the hours of 07:00 and 19:00.

The alternative route is via Eastling Road, Brogdale Road, A2 Ospringe Road, London Road, Faversham Road, The Street, Faversham Road, A20 London Road, Hubbards Hill, Bunce Court Road, Otterden Road and Eastling Road.

Wrens Road, Borden

The road will be closed between Sutton Barron Road and M2 Bridge for up to 2 days between the hours of 07:00 and 19:00.

The alternative route is via Hearts Delight Road, Doves Croft, Primrose Lane, Gore Road and Wrens Road.

Dully Road, Tonge

The road will be closed from A2 to Upper Road for up to 2 days between the hours of 07:00 and 19:00.

The alternative route is via Dully Road, Kingsdown Road, The Street, Lynstead Road and A2 London Road.

Eastling Road and The Street, Eastling

The road will be closed from Kettle Hill Road to Elverland Lane for up to 2 days between the hours of 07:00 and 19:00.

The alternative route is via Eastling Road, Brogdale Road, A2 London Road, Faversham Road, A20 Ashford Rad, Hubbards Hill, Bruce Court Road, Otterden Road and Eastling Road.

Speed Restrictions

A temporary 20 mph compulsory speed limit will be imposed on the roads below, to the extent indicated.

The 20 mph speed limit applies during active works and continues for up to 7 days after work have been completed, for the safety or the road uses due to loose-chippings.

A 40 mph speed limit will be imposed where applicable for up to 250 metres either side of the defined location during active works, to slow down traffic.

All speed limits apply in both direction and will be clearly indicated by appropriate signage displayed on site.

A2 London Road, Newington - from the junction with Southbush Lane to Newington High Street.

Lower Hartlip Road, Lower Hartlip - between A2 to the junction with Cradles Lane.

Cold Harbour Lane and Bobbing Hill, Bobbing - from the junction with Rook Lane to Keystreet Roundabout.

Petts Dane Road, Eastling - between the junctions with Kettle Hill Road and Stalisfield Road.

Stalisfield Road, Ospringe - between the junctions with Scooks Hill and Throwley Road.

Lower Road, Teynham - between the junction with Frognal Lane and Station Road.

Bagshill Road, Sheldwich - between the junctions with Parsonage Stock Road and A251 Ashford Road.

Cherry Drive and Luddenham Road, Luddenham - between the junctions with Luddenham Church Road and Bysingwood Road.

Eastling Road and Whitehill, Painters Forstal - between the junctions with Plumford Lane and Scots Lane.

Wrens Road, Borden - between the junctions with Sutton Barron Road and the M2 Bridge.

Dully Road, Tonge - between the A2 and the junction with Upper Road.

Tonge Road and Lomas Road, Sittingbourne, Tonge and Bapchild - between Mursden Road, Sittingbourne and Church Road, Tonge.

Eastling Road and The Street, Eastling - between the junctions with Kettle Hill Road and Elverland Lane.
