At the Parish Council's 24 February meeting, it was unanimously agreed to formally discontinue the project (known as 'A2R') to build a new roadway connecting Parfitt Drive with Cotton Mill Lane, which would have given better vehicle access to Reynolds Field and The Acres. It was noted that this decision leaves unresolved the question of improved disabled access to The Acres, and a separate project is likely to be created to consider that.
