RESPONDING TO COVID-19

Update for Residents from the Fiskerton-cum-Morton Parish Council:  Responding to COVID-19

At this time of national emergency, we want to share with you how we intend to continue to fulfil our statutory duties as a Parish Council based upon advice supplied by the Nottinghamshire Association of Local Councils and Newark and Sherwood District Council.

Meetings

As per Government advice we are going to hold virtual meetings using an application called ‘ZOOM’ on the dates already specified with the agenda and minutes being published and displayed on notice boards as usual.

There will be links provided to residents (put up on the website) so that there is transparency of decision making.

Annual Parish Meeting

This has been cancelled pending further government advice.

Play areas

OUR PLAY AREA IS NOW CLOSED AND THE GATE LOCKED.

Local councils supporting their communities

We are grateful to the many residents who are running and have joined the COVID-19 Volunteer Group carrying out this essential local scheme.

These should follow government guidelines on meetings and social distancing. We will continue to support this group in any way we can.

Planning Applications

We will be considering applications via email exchanges between Councillors with the final viewpoint being sent to the Planning Department following ratification via a ZOOM virtual meeting of the Parish Council.

Contacting the Parish Council

This can be via telephone calls, email or post to our Clerk Lynn Holland. Her contact details are:  c/o 8 Pine Close, Rainworth, Notts.NG21 0DN.Tel.  01623 797165.

Parish Councillors can also be contacted by phone or email address using the information which is on the Parish Council noticeboards and website. The Parish Council Email is: fiskertoncummortonpc@virginmedia.com

And finally, we recognise the challenge of responding to this crisis and feel humbled by the amazing support being offered to residents by a small army of local volunteers.

Thank you,

Rob Lancaster
