Saint Peters Church
Little Cheverell is a small hamlet; its church of St. Peter is a Grade II
listed building which has historic Saxon elements and features some of the
oldest bells in Wiltshire. The church promotes environmental stewardship,
recently installing 18 swift nest boxes. The Christmas Eve Crib Service is a
highlight, drawing a full congregation.
“I just want to say what an absolute delight it was for us to be with our
young grandchildren at Little Cheverell’s perfectly magical candle lit Crib Service.
The obvious joy and wonder of the many children in the imaginatively decorated
church was unforgettable.”
There is an annual Church Coffee Morning in aid of the church in the Village Hall.
Services: monthly Communion (BCP)
We are now starting a large fundraising appeal for our much needed new church roof.
Fundraising update; A big thank you to all those who so generously got our fundraising campaign off to a flying start.
This enabled us to submit a number of convincing applications to various grant making bodies. As a result we have now raised a total in excess of £100 000. With fundraising continuing, we are now able to commit to undertaking the reroofing project.
On present planning the scaffolding is due to arrive on the 1st of September. “
