Competitions

                                                                                            Club Competitions 
1. The deadlines for play must be adhered to. Therefore, early and timely plans to arrange and book the game are 
strongly encouraged. 
2. The person named at the top of the game, known as the challenger, is responsible for arranging and booking the 
match and should provide three dates (morning, afternoon or evening) to the person at the top of the list on the 
opposing team. The opposing team representative must confirm the selected date (from the three given) within 
three days. If the opposing team cannot play on any of these dates, they will forfeit the match. 
3. Times of sessions for early rounds shall be two hours and shall be strictly adhered to. In the event of a tie, a further 
end can be played to determine a winner. 
4. Two trial ends are permitted in the Semi-Final and finals only. 
5. Where a time limit applies in the early rounds: 
      • Upon a jack being knocked out of play, one (1) shot will be awarded to the opposing team or player. 
4. No visits to the Head will be permitted until the semi-finals and finals 
5. Results of early rounds of competitions not finished by the end of the allocated session shall be determined by the 
recorded scores on the Cards at the end of the session. If the result is a tie, an extra end or ends should be played to achieve a winning result. 
6. Semi-finals and finals: EIBA rules apply; therefore, book a rink for three hours 
 a. singles - first to 21 shots 
 b. Pairs, triples and fours play 18 ends. 
 c. If a jack is knocked out of play, the end will be replayed. 
 d. Visits to the head are permitted. 
7. Teams or players arriving later than fifteen (15) minutes after the appointed start time shall be disqualified. 
8. Up to fifteen (15) minutes late, the team or player shall be penalised five (5) shots. 
9. All Finals will be played on Finals Day except where someone is in more than three Finals on that day; the 
Management Board will then decide as to the playing arrangements.
