What is the Tunbridge Wells Draft Local Plan?
You will by now have received the Autumn edition of TWBC’s Local magazine, with an eight page pull out outlining the Draft Local Plan, a new planning strategy for the future of the borough. Since national government policy states that the borough needs 678 new dwellings a year - more than double its previous target - this plan is essential to ensure that development happens in an appropriate way. You can find more information about how to comment on the TWBC website.

What Happens Now?
The Plan enters a public consultation period from 20th September - 1st November. The most relevant section of the consultation document for Speldhurst Parish will begin on page 355.
Please do read through the proposals so that you have time to respond before the deadline.
TWBC will then consider all comments, before drafting a revised version for further consultation.
Stay Informed
TWBC’s plan for Speldhurst Parish, its homes, infrastructure and amenities is clearly an important issue.
