Councilllor Alan Rowe

Alan Rowe was co-opted to Speldhurst Parish Council in 2018 and elected in May 2019. He is Chair of the Planning Committee, Vice-Chair of the Amenities Committee, and a member of the Finance, Governance and Air Traffic Committees.

Alan grew up in New Zealand before moving overseas in the mid-80’s, eventually settling in Speldhurst with his wife and daughter in 1997.

He travelled to London each day for nearly 25 years where he worked in IT for a leading Fund Management company, latterly commuting between his  organisation's various European offices. After deciding to take a break from work and with more free time, Alan was keen to make a positive contribution to the villages in our Parish by becoming a Parish Councillor.

When not volunteering with the Citizen's Advice Bureau, Alan is a rugby enthusiast, and also enjoys spending time in the garden. He can often be seen out and about in Speldhurst on walks with his family.

You can contact Alan via the Clerk and view his Notification Form here.
