Suzie Morley, Vice Chair

Suzie moved to Mill Green 25 years ago and lived in a caravan whilst renovating the derelict barn that was once part of Mill Green Farm. Suzie has a background in IT & Process Improvement and was a District Councillor for Stonham Aspal for 8 years and Leader of Mid Suffolk District Council for 4 years. A keen genealogist, Suzie is researching the history of Stonham Aspal and its inhabitants.
Peter Emberson
Peter moved to Stonham Aspal in 2014, to enjoy retirement after living abroad for 15 years. He joined the Parish Council in 2015 and later became a trustee of the local Metcalf Charities. He has previously been a trustee of Mid Suffolk Citizens Advice and a small business mentor for the Princes Trust. Peter is a keen beekeeper and fosters rescue dogs for the Many Tears animal charity.
Josephine Mitson
Josephine was born in the village and has been on the Parish Council for over 15 years. She retired from a career in horticultural research and runs a bed and breakfast in the village. Josephine is also on the committees of the Women's Institute, Community Council, Village Hall, and Parochial Church Council. She spends one afternoon at the Primary School listening to children read.
Ian Wright
Ian came to the village with his then young family over 30 years ago. In addition to serving on the Parish Council, he was a governor of the village school for many years, has recently retired from front line volunteering as a Community First Responder, and acts as a Trustee of the village’s Metcalf Charities.
Teresa Mullings
Teresa has lived in Stonham Aspal for 5 years, having previously lived in Beccles. In addition to her role as a Parish Councillor, Teresa is a member of the Village Hall Committee and a volunteer at Citizens Advice in Stowmarket.
Nick Haugh
Nick moved to Stonham Aspal in March 2025 from South Bucks on retirement. He had lived and worked at Burnham Beeches, a National Nature Reserve owned by the City of London Corporation, and worked there for 43 years. The site is 550 acres, approximately one square mile. Being a public open space, pigs, sheep, ponies & cattle were used to assist with grazing through various areas to stop encroaching secondary woodland. Although a privately owned area, the public were allowed access.
Nick was co-opted to the Parish Council in June 2026.
