Helpful information: Etiquette of club

 

Below is the Etiquette of the club; hopefully this will help you enjoy your experience and understand what is expected of you, so we can all enjoy our time playing this very enjoyable game! 

 

ETIQUETTE OF THE CLUB

CONDUCT BEFORE, DURING AND AFTER THE MATCH

1. Away matches: If you are a passenger, please ensure you contact the driver beforehand re: travel arrangements.​

2. Be properly dressed and on the green ready to play prior to the captain's welcoming talk.

3. Stand to the side of the head and do not move whilst a player is on the mat, Except when your skip asks for advice (see 5).

4. Be silent and stand at least one metre behind the mat whislt a player is "in possession of the mat" and until they leave it.

5. In Triples 

A) the number 2 player will:-

  • advise the skip if requested to do so (number 3 player does this when playing Rinks)
  • Agree the score with the oppostion's number 2 ( Rinks number 3)

​B) the number 1 will:

  • stay away from the head untill the score has been agreed ( Rinks numbers 1 & 2)
  • push the bowls to behind and one side of the mat if the end has been lost (Rinks number 1)

​6. All: Help clear away the equipment at the end of the game. NB: be aware that other rinks may still be playing.

7. Offer your opposite number a drink from the bar.

8. Do not discredit the Club by your actions or manners
