With regard to members going to the club to practice we are going into unchartered territory again; the following is guidance from Bowls England.

The Government Guide lines state:

  • You can exercise or spend time outdoors more than once a day.
  • Sunbathing, picnics and sitting in parks and on beaches are now allowed from wednesday 13th May.
  • Outdoor sports courts, tennis clubs and golf clubs can now re-open.
  • You can play sport with member of your own household or with one other member of a different household as long as you practise social distancing.
  • This will mean one rink to be left free between play.so singles only and no team games

At no time must the bar be opened as all bars are still in locked down and that includes clubs. Hopefully we can progress with this in later June, at least this is a start.

If members are going to the club then please also follow our health and safety guidelines:

  • There will be hand sanitiser available, please use on entering and leaving the club,
  • Antibacterial spray and paper towels will also be available in both changing rooms for you to spray on any surfaces you may touch.
  • Antibacterial spray and paper towels will be available in the shed for you to use on any outdoor equipment you have touched (mats, jacks etc).
  • On leaving the club, use the antibacterial spray and paper towels to wipe the door handles. These will be located by the front door on the veranda.

Please put all used paper towels in the bins provided.

By following these rules, we should all be able to use our facilities safely and get back to enjoying bowls and meeting our friends again.
