The Churchyard Makeover is complete!

As published https://www.upperclatford.com/community/upper-clatford-15048/all-saints-roof-restoration-project/, sufficient funding was raised to replace the Curch roof. Now Stage 2 - the Churchyard Tree Works have been completed and All Saints' Church as now fully visible from the Church Lane.

The contractors, Groundlord have been busy on Monday and Tuesday, cleaning up and pollarding the avenue of Limes and felling the holly trees which had self-seeded in the lime. The Ash on the western boundary, half of which fell in a storm a few weeks ago, has now been felled. The Yew outside the Church porch has been reduced while the Yew on Church Lane, also badly damaged in a storm earlier this year, has been trimmed to stabilise it. Finally, the untidy group of cyprus trees in the middle of the graveyard have been removed, as this area had become a rabbit warren and looked very unkempt. These trees will be replaced by new plantings.

This leaves the improvements to heating and lighting, which are work in progress!
