It is heartening to see that community spirit is alive and well in Upper Clatford with so many doing good works without thought for reward. Many remain nameless but a few have recently be drawn to my attention: There is Charlie Gillan, who recently cleared broken glass found in Watery Lane, Leslie Heslop, a regular litter picker on her daily walks, Richard Sawyer who drew the warning sign about birds nesting in the ashtry on the wall at the village hall (see photos), Jim Stuart and Charles Eyre for their poo patrols and efforts to clear our footpaths of human waste, the members of the local conservation group who have been clearing ivy from trees in the area and all those who have volunteered their time to assist those sheltering during the COVID pandemic. Very well done all of you and to all those not mentioned who go the extra mile to make our villages nicer places in which to live. Keep it up!
