Parish Council Co-Option Notice
Farnsfield Parish Council
NOTIFICATION OF VACANCY
Notice is hereby given that there is currently one vacancy on Farnsfield Parish Council and any qualified person who wishes to be considered for co-option is asked to complete an application form and submit to the Clerk of the Council at the Village Cente address, or by email, as given below. The closing date is Monday 24th at noon. If there are more than 1 applicant each applicant will be asked to attend the Council meeting as below.
You will be required to attend a Full Council Meeting and may, if you wish, present a 2-minute presentation to the Council giving details of your suitability for the role.
To be a Parish Councilor you must meet the following criteria:
- Be a British citizen, or a citizen of the Commonwealth or the European Union
- Be 18 years old or older on the day you become co-opted
- Have been or are:
An elector of the Parish and either occupied or owned/rented premises in the parish
or
Resided within 3 miles of the boundary of the Parish
or
Had your principal or only place of work in the Parish. You cannot be a Parish Councilor if you:
- Are the subject of a bankruptcy restriction order or interim order
- Have, within five years before the day you are co-opted, been convicted in the United Kingdom of any offence and have received a prison sentence (whether suspended or not) for a period of over 3 months without the option of a fine
- Work for the Parish Council
The term of office of the person co-opted will be up until May 2027.
