We have two Parish Councillor vacancies to fill through co-option and would love to hear from anyone interested in this role. Our criteria is simple: we welcome applications from all British, EU and Commonwealth Citizens over 18 years old who have lived in the parish for a year or more.

Becoming a Parish Councillor is a unique opportunity to serve your community. You will be a part of the democratic decision-making that affects all areas of local life - from the environment to highways, planning and more. Alongside attending meetings and voting on parish matters, you can choose to become involved with more hands-on work such as helping maintain local footpaths.

And while you might apply because you’d like to do your bit for the parish, being a Councillor can benefit you in ways you might not have considered. It can make your CV stand out, whether you are at the beginning of your career, returning to work or looking to build your non-executive portfolio. It also gives you the chance to get to know other residents, and, although the role is not voluntary work in the strictest sense, the feeling of satisfaction is the same.

Applicants can expect to attend an informal interview with up to three of our Parish Councillors and the successful candidates will be co-opted as Parish Councillors for the rest of the term. The applications deadline is 31st October, so, if you are interested, find out how to apply from our Clerk, Katie Neve.
