Accessibility Statement

Temple Ewell Parish Council publishes documents in a range of formats, including Microsoft Word and Excel, with Pictures usually in a JPEG Format. We want as many people as possible to be able to use those documents. For example, when we produce a document we make sure to:

  • Provide an HTML option where possible
  • Tag headings and other parts of the document properly, so screen readers can understand the page structure
  • Ensure that we include alt text alongside non-decorative images, so that people who cannot see them understand what they are there for
  • Avoid using tables, except when we are presenting data
  • Write in plain English

What to do if you cannot use one of our documents

If you need a document that we have published in a different format please either email the Parish Clerk - TempleEwellPC@Outlook.com or contact by telephone on 01304 361774. We will consider the request and get back to you within 14 days.

Reporting accessibility problems with one of our documents

Enforcement procedure

The Equality & Human Rights Commission (EHRC) is responsible for enforcing the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No.2) Accessibility Regulations 2018 (the "accessibility regulations"). Temple Ewell Parish Council is committed to making our documents accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites & Mobile Applications) (no.2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

The documents Temple Ewell Parish Council publishes are fully compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 (http://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG21/) AA Standard.

How we tested our documents

We last tested a sample of our documents on 10 January 2024. The test was carried out by Temple Ewell Parish Council. We tested a representative sample of all our documents including a higher proportion of documents that are read most frequently.
