Maldon Bowling Club is a friendly and progressive club situated near The Promenade in the Blackwater town of Maldon in Essex. We have a playing membership of approximately 90 with approximately 20 social & honorary members. Bowling abilities range from novice to international standard.

We have a wide range of fixtures and competitions throughout the week and at weekends. These include mixed friendly games against other, mainly local, clubs with the emphasis more on enjoyment rather than winning. For the more serious bowler, we play in mixed and men's evening leagues throughout the season and a number of our members compete in external competitions at a local and at national level.

We are a friendly club and welcome new members. No previous experience is necessary and training is available with an instructor qualified to teach beginners or with an experienced bowler following an initial interview.

The Bowls Club has recently received a 'Where Quality of Life Matters Community Fund Grant' from Maldon District Council which has allowed the Club to undertake edge reinforcement to the green.  The Club are very grateful to Maldon District Council for this funding as the green edges were in desperate need of the works being undertaken and without this funding the Club would have found it very difficult to undertake works to the four edges.  

For the past two years pupils from the Plume Academy have visited the Club and taken part in bowls sessions as part of their PE lesson.  This is great news and as it proved so popular for the past two years it is hoped the scheme will continue again during the 2026 Season.
