Maldon A Division 4

ixtures 2024

Maldon A team had a very successful 2023 resulting in them being promoted to Division 3 for the 2024 Season.  Congratulations to all the team and their Captain Sheila Wright.

May

Tuesday 14th   Away v Gt. Baddow B - First game of the season saw Maldon A team going away to play at Great Baddow.  Maldon had a convincing win on one rink with a score of 27 - 12 but unfortunately the score was not so good on the second rink where Gt Baddow got 18 shots compared to Maldon's 9.  However Maldon had an overall win of 6 shots and a score of 6 points.

Tuesday 21st   Home v Witham B  - the A team won on one rink, 20 - 12 and lost on the second rink 13 - 16 making a total of 33 for Maldon and 28 Witham B resulting in 6 points for Maldon and 2 for Witham B.  

Tuesday 28th   Away v Chelmsford  C - not such a good result this week with rink 3 losing 6 - 25 and rink 4 winning 24 - 13, resulting in an overall loss of 8 shots.  Maldon therefore just got 2 points this week. 

June 

Tuesday 4th    Home v Danbury B - Maldon  'A' team had a successful evening.  Although the team on rink 3 lost 18-23, rink 2 had a good win of 25-13 resulting in a win of 6 shots which gave Maldon 'A' team 6 points to 2.   

Tuesday 11th   Away v Falcon A - another win for Maldon A.  Rink 3 obtained 23 shots to 10 and rink 4 10 shots to 21 therefore making an overall win of 6 shots (same as last week)  giving Maldon 6 points and Falcon A 2 points.  

Tuesday 18th   Away v PML - an excellent night for Maldon 'A' team as they won on both rinks with shots of 29 - 14 on rink 3 and 17 - 15 on rink 4 resulting in 8 points to Maldon. 

Thursday 20th  KO Shield Preliminary - Away v Gt. Baddow A - unfortunately both the home and away teams lost so they are now out of the KO Shield.

Tuesday 25th   Home v Braintree  - not such a good night for the A team as unfortunately they lost on both rinks 14 - 28 and 19 - 20 so they did not receive any points.

July

Tuesday 2nd    Home v Gt Baddow B - Maldon had a win on one rink 22 - 15 and lost on the other 16 - 17 resulting in an overall loss of 5 points resulting in Maldon getting 2 points and Gt Baddow 6. 

Thursday 4th   KO Shield 1st Round 

Tuesday 9th   Away v Witham B - Maldon won convincingly on both rinks and obtained the full 8 points. 

Tuesday 16th  Home v Chelmsford C -.   a good win for Maldon on both rinks with shots 18 - 12 on rink 1 and 24 -17 on rink 2 achieving the full 8 points. 

Thursday 18th  KO Shield 2nd Round

Tuesday 23rd   Away v Danbury B - Not such a good week as Maldon lost on one rink 13 - 30 but managed to win on the second rink 25 - 23, losing overall by 15 shots.  Total score 2 points to Maldon and 6 to Danbury B. 

Tuesday 30th   Home v Falcon A - Not such a good week for Maldon A team as they lost on 1 17 - 18 shots and rink 2 13 - 25, resulting in 8 points for Falcon A.   

August

Thursday 1st    KO Shield Semi-Final

Tuesday 6th     Home v PML - a draw tonight on one rink 13 - 13 but a good win on rink 2 22 - 14 resulting in 7 points to Maldon and 1 to PML.

Tuesday 13th   Away v Braintree - Maldon playing away at Braintree lost on rink 1 11 - 15 but won on rink 2 22 - 15 which resulted in 6 points to Maldon and 2 to Braintree.  Maldon will now go up.
