Indoor Fixtures

Saturday 17th October - Saturday saw our last friendly of this year's season, which was at West Mersea bowls club.

So we got in our cars loaded our bowls and buckets and spades and made our way across the causeway to the exotic island of Mersea for an indoor match.

Now as you know we are mostly outdoor players so are always at a distinct disadvantage when we play indoors against mainly indoor players, but that doesn't stop us going there and trying our best.

It is always a lovely, friendly afternoon, where we always probably come second and although overall we came second, we also won on one rink.

So today goes down in West Mersea folklore, that Brenda, Bobby, Dave Bruce with skip Peter Ward won on their rink...... I'll let that sink in for a bit and also say that Bobby has been in a winning team once before there.

Also if you have been there to play before you know they always do a short (3 question) quiz which apparently, we normally always win. So they said following complaints from West Mersea they would ask harder questions..... We still got two out of three correct so we won again.

So great fun, great people and club, we are going back in February, so keep an eye out for the team sheet.

Regards

Peter Ward
