Welcome to Puncknowle & Swyre Parish Council
Dorset’s parish councils are the most local tier of government, representing community voices and helping shape the places we live. Puncknowle & Swyre Parish Council serves the villages of Puncknowle, Swyre, West Bexington, and the hamlet of Berwick, supporting local well‑being, managing community assets, commenting on planning matters, and working closely with Dorset Council.
The Council is made up of unpaid elected councillors who serve four‑year terms and follow a formal Code of Conduct.
Regular Parish Council Meetings take place on the first Tuesday of each month (excluding January and August), normally at 7.30pm in Puncknowle Village Hall. Residents are warmly invited to attend. Public time is held at the start and end of each meeting, offering an opportunity to raise issues or suggest future agenda items.
Each May, the Council hosts the Annual Parish Assembly, where residents can hear updates from local groups and catch up on what’s happening across the parish.
