Update - Burglaries and Suspicious Sightings

Further to the recent news on Upper Clatford.com, a number of burglaries have occurred in Upper Clatford, Anna Valley and Goodworth Clatford during the last 10 days, with vehicles and outbuildings being targeted.

Test Valley Rural Police have provided a reminder via their Hampshire Alert service of some methods to deter intruders. These include:

  • Heavy duty locks
  • CCTV/wildlife cameras and alarms that can detect movement could help protect you and your property.
  • Movement detecting outside lights. There have been instances where intruders have entered driveways but have been deterred by the activation of security lights.

Please continue to report any suspicious activity.

As mentioned in the earlier New Item, there have been a couple of sightings in Goodworth Clatford and Upper Clatford of a single male scouting driveways in the early hours of the morning. In both cases they run off when security lights are triggered.

The Videos of these evenrts have been posted on the Upper Clatford Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/The-Upper-Clatford-Anna-Valley-Red-Rice-Village-Page-190060668315653/)

We strongly encourage residents to report anything remotely suspicious to the police.
