Needed 1 point from this match to remain in the 3rd. division. We came close on one rink where we lost by one shot on the last end, this means we will go down to the fourth division on shot difference.

6 - 0 down after 3 ends, pulled back to go level 10-10 on the 14th. then 11-11 on the 16th then one shot up on the next end put us one up going to the last end where sadly their Skip picked up two shots with his last wood, which meant we lost 12-13
Rink 4. Shirley, Jon, Jeff (Skip)
7- 0 up after three ends, lost the next 7 ends to go 7-13 down at that point, only scored another 4 shots over the last 8. Final score 11-19.
Rink 5. Dennis, Colin B, Winston (Skip)
5-5 after 7 ends, then only won 3 more ends. Well beaten, Final score 9-17
17/08/23 - Billericay "B" v Springhouse (Home)
Springhouse failed to arrive therefore we are claiming a maximum 7 points and 30 shots (subject to the approval of the League Secretary).
This gives us a better chance of avoiding relegation with just one match remaining.
10/08/23 - Billericay "B" v Runwell "B" (Away)
Match Score: 37-65; Points: 0-7
A very warm, sunny evening on an excellent green but one where nothing seemed to go our way. A similar story on all three rinks, where no matter how well the front end bowled, the opposition skips always seemed to be able to come in and negate our hard work.
Rink 4: Heather, Mike S, David B (Skip)
Apart from a single on the 4th end, we didn't score again until the 9th end. Later ends were better, scoring three shots on end 11 and two shots on each of ends 13,14 and 17.
Final Score: 11-20
Rink 5: Gill, Jon, David A (Skip)
Despite making an excellent start to be leading 7-0 after the second end, the opposition retaliated with some high scores - five shots on end 4, seven shots on end 8, five on end 12 and six on end 13.
Final Score: 19-27
Rink 6: Shirley, Mel, Jeff (Skip)
A good start, winning the first two ends, but only managed to win three further ends.
Final Score: 7-18
Score lines which in general didn't reflect the overall standard of our play.
03/08/23 - Billericay "B" v VCA Riverview
Match Score 24-49, Points 0-7
Owing to unforeseen circumstances, we were only able to field two rinks so the above result reflects a penalty of 2 points and 10 shots.
A slightly unusual game, punctuated by several unscheduled appearances by tennis balls on the rinks from the adjacent courts! We were up against a tough opposition who were playing at least two county standard bowlers.
Rink 2:- Heather, Lorraine, Mike (Skip)
A difficult first half, winning only 3 of the first 10 ends - 12:3 down. After the tea break they enjoyed a better run with 3 shots on the 12th end and 4 on the 16th. Final score 14-21.
Rink 3:- Jon, Shirley, David A (Skip)
A tough game with the opposition winning 10 ends. Billericay picked up 3 shots on ends 3 and 12, otherwise all singles. This game was abandoned after 17 ends when the automated sprinkler system decided it was time to give the green and everyone on it a good soaking!! Final Score 10-18
13/07/23 - Billericay “B” v Runwell “C”.
Match score 41-59, Points 2-5

Won 6 of the first 8 ends to go 7- 2 up, then lost the next 10 ends 9 shots to 10 to win by 4.
Rink 5:- Heather, David B, Mike (Skip).
7 shots to 3 up after 3 ends then lost 13 of the remaining ends, well beaten. Final score 12- 30
Rink 6 :- Lorraine, Christine, Winston (Skip).
Even game over the first 9 ends, 6 shots all at that point went in front on the 14 th. 12 shots to 11 but only won 1 more end. Final score 13- 17.

11-1 down after 8 ends, won 4 of the next 5 to get within 3, then dropped 10 shots over the remaining ends, final score 11 - 20

9-1 up after 5 then 18 all by the 15th, 21 - 18 up with one end to play but dropped a 3 to finish 21- 21
Rink 6 :- Colin W, Christine, Winston (Skip)
Never got going on this rink, only won 3 of the 18 ends. Final score 5-40

Rink 2. Mel, Ron, Jeff (Skip).
4-0 down after 3 ends, won 8 of the next 11 ends to go 19-7 up, lost the last 4 ends but held on for a win. Final score 19-13.
Rink 3. Christine, Colin, Winston (Skip)
14-0 down after 6 ends and 7-20 on the 14th. Won the last 4 ends to pull back a bit. Final score 13-20.
Rink 4. Lorraine, John, David “B” (Skip)
5-5 after 6 ends, scored 13 shots to 7 over the last 12 ends to take the win, final score 18- 12

A close game on two of the triples, losing one rink by one shot and the other by 3 bu a 10 shot loss on the other rink gave them a 14 shot overall victory.

Always in front on this rink, the away side did get back to within 1 on the 11th but 11 shots to 3 over the last 7 ends gave us the win. Final score 24 - 16
Rink 6. Dennis, John, David B (Skip)
10 - 0 down by the 6th., won the last 12 ends 9 shots to 3 but didn’t quite make it. Final score 11-14

A very close game over 16 ends, 12 all at that point, but 5 shots over the last two ends gave us the win . Final score 17-12.

6 all after 6 ends then only won 4 of the remaining 12. Final score 14-27

Another close game for 9 ends, 10 shots all at that point, scored 8 points to 0 over the next three ends to go 18-10 up, only won 1 of the last 6 ends but held on to win 21-20

Rink 3. Lorraine, Dennis, Winston (Skip).
Neck and neck after 7 ends 7-7, dropped a 4 on the 12th to be 11-11, got a 5 on the 16th. to be 19-14 and a 4 on the final end to win 23 - 15, well done !!
Rink 4. Catherine, Jeff, David A. (Skip)
Dropped a 7 on the 4th end and were 14-3 down after 8, clawed their way back to be 15-16 after 14 and 17 all after 16 but dropped a 5 on the 17th and a 1 on the last to finish 17 - 23, hard luck!! after being so close.
Rink 5. Heather, David B, Mike S.
5 down after 9 ends, then fought back after being 7 - 15 after 14 and finished 15-15.
