Along with the rest of the sporting world, our 2020 competitive season has been non-existent.
UPDATE 27 Nov 2020.
Our outdoor summer season was written off, but the green is looking good for 2021, scarified, top dressed, cut, anti-moss treatment and with minimal wear in 2020, should be in its best condition to start in May.
We are continuing discussions with the Council to improve the facilities over this winter, especially the refurbishing of the toilets to include a compliant wheelchair accessible toilet.
Annual General Meeting - conducted ‘virtual' in November with all members having the chance to speak on conference calls and/or participate via email exchanges.
The club officers for 2021 have been formally elected, largely the same as for 2020, and the committee can now proceed to plan positively for next season.
All County and District committees are positively planning for a normal season for 2021, so our programme will include league matches on four nights a week, provided we can maintain the teams.
It may be that after a season with no play, regretfully some members will take the opportunity to retire from bowling, or not wish to play in so many evening matches - we are all a year older! However with the four District evening leagues operating as usual, please make an extra effort this year to support our teams.
We will also be making a huge effort in recruitment in May as usual - an open day and coached sessions.
We also add items of news to our Facebook page called Billericay Bowling Club.
