Village Design Statement
The Village Design Statement for the Parish of Hurstbourne Tarrant was adopted by the Test valley Borough Council as a Supplementary Planning Document on 7 April 2021, following a recommendation from the Council’s Cabinet on 10 March 2021. You can read the Village Design Statement online at bit.ly/hbtvds.
It records what is special about Hurstbourne Tarrant in the view of its residents. It portrays the existing appearance and quality of its landscape, settlements and buildings by describing their features, and defining the characteristics that make them what they are. It sets out guidelines that are intended to ensure that the distinctive character of the Parish is retained, and to enhance it.
This document now forms part of the Local Development Framework for the area and therefore forms part of the basis for decisions on land-use planning affecting that area.
