Portishead Allotments Assn
This site is located off Nore Road at the junction with Beach Hill.
The only access to the site is pedestrian from the top of Beach Hill.
The site is approximately 1.5 acres at an elevation of approx. 150ft and has excellent views over the Bristol Channel and generally slopes NNW. Soil conditions are light and sandy like. No sheds or greenhouses are allowed because of planning restrictions. Tap water is available on site.
The sizes of plots vary between approx. 50 and 150 square yds. There are currently some 50+ members on this site.
Last year, 2019, the site was entered into the RHS South West in Bloom, "It's Your Neighbourhood" section, for the first time and was awarded stage 4 "Thriving" an excellent outcome for a first year of entering.
Your committee advises members to make sure that their tools are secure, either by using a toolbox or by taking them home as Beach Hill is not secure from the general public.

If you are already a tenant and have an allotment problem then in the first instance please contact one of your site representatives who will be found on General >Management >Committee.
Current demand We have 2 or 3 immediate vacancies at the moment, so new prospective tenants would have the opportunity to prepare the soil during Autumn and Winter ready for a flying start next season. If this is too soon for you then you can put your name onto a waiting list.
Costs are one of the lowest in the district.
If you would like to explore the possibility of having a plot on this site, even if it is a bit too soon for you, then contact our Secretary, Mr Arthur Terry, on AgtPAALtd2014@aol.com, or 840247 giving your name, telephone number and location. We do carry a waiting list that you can be added to. All information is held in strict confidence, solely for keeping you in contact with allotment matters. The Lettings Member is Mr Andy Newman.
