BEDS VPs MATCH REPORT AUGUST 30th 2026
BEDS VPs (92) MATCH REPORT AUGUST 30th 2026 The London Welsh B.A. were our opponents for the match played on Sunday 30th August 2026 with the venue being Maulden B.C. which having superb facilities made it ideal for this fixture. Both teams had 20 players however one of our players had to withdraw just prior to the game commencing. Help was at hand because London Welsh had a spare player who offered to play for us which was a relief, so it was all systems go. The weather was overcast with the prospect of rain but thankfully this did not materialise during the game but we did have a shower when we were all in the clubhouse after so it didn’t really bother us. The VPs got of to a rapid start and midway through the game the score was 57-23 in our favour and as the game was nearing completion we were winning on all rinks. Thank goodness we held on and won the match 99-55. Since doing these reports this has only been achieved once before and coincidentally it was against the London Welsh. Let’s enjoy it while we can. We did have a highest winning rink being Carol Curtis, Peter Glennon, Rosemarie Duke with Geoff Ashley in the hot seat. Many congratulations and well done to them all. The food was a brilliant buffet with cake to follow which was enjoyed by all. Thanks were given to Maulden B.C. for making it a most enjoyable and memorable afternoon.
