BEDS VPs MATCH REPORT MAY 17th 2026

BEDS VPS (83) MATCH REPORT MAY 17th 2026

May 17th 2026 the Bedfordshire VPs made there way to Dunstable to play the long standing fixture against Dunstable Town B.C.

Unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances we could only muster just 13 players, however our captain of the day and Fixture Secretary Chris Saunders explained the situation to the Dunstable Town captain who at very short notice managed to get us 2 loan players to make it a 5 triples match. We were very grateful to Dunstable for helping us out.

The weather for the afternoon was possibly showery but thank goodness this did not materialise and it did not spoil the afternoon.

As usual the VPs started well and at the midway stage the score was 40-38 in favour of the VPs but despite some very good bowling by our players we sadly went down 69-92. Disappointing but we still came away smiling.

We were very fortunate in having a new member making his debut for the VPs namely John Beaveridge  and it was nice to hear that he got a warm welcome from our members. I hope he enjoyed the experience and has many more games playing for us in the future. A small memento was given to John to mark the occasion.

We did have a highest winning rink being Danny Proctor (loan) Sandra Tuffnell and skip Peter Lill.

Many congratulations and well done to them all.

The meal provided after the game was a ploughman’s followed by Viennetta ice cream dessert which everyone enjoyed.
