Achievements 2023

Bowls England Awards - Mark Piper, won Greenkeeper of the Year Award at the Annual Awards Ceremony on 24 February at Leicester.  This is a great achievement and so well deserved.

C&D Champion of Champions - Andy Squire has retained the C&D Champion of Champions title after winning 21-8 against Mike Newman. 

Andy Squire was also in the Essex team which won the Balcomb Trophy for the second year running at Leamington Spa.

Men's County Singles on Saturday 29 July Andy Squire won the Men's County Singles title 21-8. This gives Andy his 8th title and he will now play at Lemington Spa in the national finals.  

At the Maldon Town Mayor's Community Awards held on Tuesday 21 March 2023  John Rawlinson a member of the Bowls Club received the Community Impact Award from Mayor Andrew Lay. The award is presented for the charitable work of an organisation, individual or group that has made a dramatic impact on the lives of those within Maldon. John has been a member of Essex Search and Rescue for many years, responding to calls day and night from the police to assist in the search for vulnerable missing persons. John has also devoted much of his time in the training of new recruits. He was nominated by the members of Maldon Bowling Club where in his position as Safeguarding Officer he has also organised free first aid and defibrillator training for the members.
