Achievements 2024
National Over 55s Men's Singles - Andy Squire became the runner up of this National Competition on 20th August at Leamington after three days of matches. This is an excellent achievement and congratulations to Andy.
Maldon in Bloom Award 2024 - the Club has won the Maldon in Bloom Gardening Competition achieving a Gold Award and Judges Special Award for Care of the Environment.
Bowls England Awards - Mark Piper, won Greenkeeper of the Year Award at the Annual Awards Ceremony on 24 February at Leicester. This is a great achievement and so well deserved.
Maldon Town Community Awards - Mark continued his success by winning the Sporting Volunteer Award - another great achievement for Mark. His tireless efforts have elevated the green to one of Essex's best and environmentally friendly green, attracting high-level County and National games.
Anglia TV - on Friday 26th April the club had a visit from Russell Hookey, an Anglia TV presenter. He interviewed Mark Piper and asked him how he had achieved the remarkable transformation of the green. Mark told him about the organic products that he uses, and also talked about the excellent machinery from Dennis and SISIS, and gave a demonstration of their usage. Other members of the Club were also interviewed including Carole Ash who was nominated for a Bowls England Award, for the Bowls England Inclusion and Diversity Award and Brian Stubbings was interviewed as a long standing member of the club.
Indoor/Outdoor Team - Congratulations to our indoor outdoor team, who beat Tillingham in the final at Jacks on 13 April.
