🕊️ Remembering Our Birds
Forever in Our Hearts 🕊️
Some birds come into our lives for many years, while others are with us for only a short time. Every bird who becomes part of Northern Fenix leaves their own little mark behind.
This page is dedicated to the birds we have loved and lost — remembering their lives, their personalities and the memories they gave us.
No matter where their journey took them, they will always remain part of the Northern Fenix story.
Gone from our care, but never forgotten. ❤️
Where old life ends and new life begins.
🕊️ Coco — In Loving Memory
Left our care: 19 May 2026
Passed away: 21 July 2026
Coco was a beautiful girl who became part of our journey and will always have a place in the Northern Fenix story.
Coco left our care on 19 May 2026 to begin the next chapter of her life. We were deeply saddened to be informed on 21 July 2026 that Coco had unexpectedly passed away.
The exact cause of Coco's death was never established, and without a post-mortem we would never want to speculate about what happened.
What matters here is remembering Coco.
Every bird who comes through our doors becomes part of our story. Some remain with us, some go on to new homes, and sadly some leave this world far sooner than we would ever wish.
No matter how much time passes, the birds who have touched our lives are not forgotten. Coco was an individual with her own personality, her own story and her own place in our memories.
Her photograph will remain here as part of Northern Fenix — not to remember how her story ended, but to remember her life and the beautiful bird she was.
Fly high, beautiful Coco. 🌈🦜
Forever remembered. Forever in our hearts. ❤️
🌈 In Loving Memory of Mango
22 September 2026 – 27 September 2026
Mango came into Northern Fenix for temporary welfare care after his very concerned owner reached out to us for help. He wasn't surrendered and he wasn't looking for a new home — he was a deeply loved little boy whose family wanted to give him every possible chance.
From the moment Mango arrived, we began fighting for him. He was placed in our hospital cage, kept warm and comfortable and closely monitored.
Mango received veterinary treatment and extensive supportive care, including worming treatment, antibiotics, anti-sickness and anti-inflammatory injections, Guardian Angel supportive care, assisted formula feeding and additional warmth.
Sadly, despite everything being done for him, Mango continued to deteriorate. His weight fell from 72 g when he entered our care to just 57 g at his lowest recorded pre-feed weight.
There were moments when he seemed brighter and gave us hope that he might be turning a corner, but his little body simply couldn't keep fighting.
At 1:00 PM on 27 September 2026, Mango gained his wings. 🌈💔
This is the side of rescue that people don't always see. We can provide veterinary treatment, medication, warmth, nutrition, monitoring and every ounce of care we have — and our vets can fight alongside us — but sometimes, despite everyone's very best efforts, we simply cannot save them.
Mango's owner did exactly what a loving owner should do when she knew her baby needed help: she reached out. Our hearts are with her as she grieves her precious little boy.
Mango was only with Northern Fenix for a few days, but he left a very big mark on our hearts.
He was warm. He was cared for. He was fought for. And he was loved right until the end. ❤️
Fly high, beautiful Mango. 🌈🦜
Forever remembered. Forever in our hearts. ❤️
