Birds Looking for Their New Beginning
Every bird who comes into Northern Fenix Parrot Rescue is given the time they need to settle, be assessed and receive appropriate care before being considered for adoption.
We do not rush birds into new homes. Our aim is to understand each bird's individual personality, behaviour and needs so that we can find the most suitable home for them.
Where appropriate, birds receive a veterinary check and DNA sexing before adoption.

All Northern Fenix adoptions are subject to our adoption process and paperwork. Adoption donations are non-refundable, and every adoption includes a mandatory return clause.
If circumstances change at any point in the future, the bird must be returned to Northern Fenix Parrot Rescue. The bird must not be sold, given away, bred from or passed to another person.
Ownership remains with Northern Fenix Parrot Rescue.

Meet Joey 🐦
Joey is a lovely little budgie with plenty of character who is now looking for his new beginning.
Joey originally came into our care before Northern Fenix was officially established. Very little was known about his history. His previous owner had reportedly gone into hospital and could no longer care for him, and Joey eventually came to us through a friend of his owner.
Joey has one good foot, while his other foot has only one toe. This doesn't stop this wee character from enjoying life.
More recently, Joey returned to our care with an injured, bleeding wing and required emergency veterinary attention. Following treatment, quarantine and recovery, he has done extremely well. He has since received a further veterinary check and is ready to begin looking for the right home.
Joey loves the company of other birds and is happily singing and chirping away. He is eating brilliantly and is in good condition.
Joey's cage and some budgie treats will be included with his adoption.
As with all Northern Fenix rescue birds, Joey is not to be used for breeding.
Anyone interested in offering Joey a home must complete our adoption process. Our mandatory return clause also applies — if circumstances ever change, Joey must be returned to Northern Fenix Parrot Rescue and must not be sold or passed on.

Meet Reggie & Goose 🦜🦜
Reggie and Goose are Quaker parrots who are looking for their new home together. They are brother and sister, approximately 4–5 years old, and have been together throughout their lives.
They are a bonded pair and will not be separated.
Reggie is the blue Quaker and Goose is the white Quaker. They are both hand tame and flighted and have plenty of typical Quaker personality.
Reggie can say “What you doing?”, and they also enjoy blowing kisses.
They have different preferences when it comes to people. Goose tends to prefer men, while Reggie tends to prefer women. Because of this, we would ideally like to find them a home with both male and female companionship, where both birds can receive the individual attention they need.
As a pair, they can be protective of one another. If they are sitting together on someone's shoulder, they may nip, so their new family will need to understand their body language and know when to give them some space.
Like many Quakers, they can also be territorial around their cage, and their new home will need to understand and manage this appropriately.
Important — No Breeding
Reggie and Goose are brother and sister and must not be allowed to breed.
Mating behaviour has occurred previously and Goose has laid one egg. Northern Fenix has taken steps to discourage further breeding behaviour.
Their new home must understand the importance of preventing nesting and breeding opportunities and be prepared to monitor and manage their environment appropriately.
As with all Northern Fenix rescue birds, breeding is not permitted.
Reggie and Goose need a committed home that understands Quaker behaviour, is prepared to work with their individual personalities and will give them both the attention, enrichment and companionship they need.

Meet Lemon 🍋🐦
Lemon is a beautiful 3-year-old Lutino Cockatiel who is looking for his new home.
Lemon originally came into Northern Fenix following a change in his owner's personal circumstances and because they no longer had the time they felt he needed. He had been with his previous owner for three years and, from the information provided to us, this was his only home.
Although Lemon was originally surrendered to us as female, we have since had him DNA sexed and can confirm that Lemon is male.
Lemon is tame, steps up, enjoys head scratches and is comfortable sitting on your shoulder. We were also told that he had no previous history of biting.
He's quite the little chatterbox too! Lemon says “Hello,” “Hi gorgeous,” “Hi baby,” and “You ok?” and even imitates the microwave.
Since being with Northern Fenix, we have also discovered that Lemon loves the company of other cockatiels, so this will be an important consideration when finding the right home for him.
His previous diet was mainly pellets, with fresh fruit and vegetables occasionally, and nuts and seeds as treats.
Lemon will need a committed home that can give him plenty of companionship, interaction and enrichment and continue providing him with the social contact he enjoys.
