Braces Lane or Birmingham Road A38 - 20 June 1931

This article from the Bromsgrove Messenger mentions a viaduct, where was it? A guess is that it was on the A38 just north of Braces Lane where the stream (now culverted) which flows at the back of the Braces Lane Recreation Ground, then it crosses the A38, by the pedestrian crossing traffic lights, Golden Cross Lane, to eventually becomes Battlefield Brook.

In the 1960s this was a general store owned by Mr & Mrs Marshall who would also deliver your shopping. There was also an off license where you could take your own bottle and have it filled with sherry from a cask. They owned a dachshund named Pippin. Prior to this the Potter family lived here. "The Shop" was run by Elizabeth (mother) and Ethel (daughter).
