SHORT MAT TRIPLES LEAGUE

42 players put their names down for the Triples League this year, so to allow all who entered to play, the draw on 26 September produced 11 teams, 9 of 4 players and 2 of 3.

To ensure that every player in the teams of 4 has an equal chance to play, 2 players in each team can play a maximum of 8 games, while the other 2 will play 7 games*. It's up to the team who plays when, but you cannot exceed these limits. You may also choose your order of play and even change this during the game, but you must inform the opposing skip and can only do so between ends.

Teams of 3 will be allowed to have a substitute in the even to non-availability. At the moment we have no reserves, so you may use the inactive member from any of the teams of 4, except your direct opponent on the night, or a member of the team on its bye week. The substitute must NOT play as skip.

To cater for the increased number of teams matches will start at 6.00pm and each game (12 ends, 2 bowls per player) should last no more than an hour. Please try to start promptly and do not waste time to avoid delaying the following match. Each week one team will have a bye.

Fixtures are listed in the PDF file below. Once matches begin I will update the file with the results of each round and also post a league table in the same format.

* Worked out thus: 10 games X 3 players in each game = 30 playing slots. Divide by 4 players per team = 7 with 2 remainder. So each player has 7 games, but 2 may play 8 = 30 slots.
