Autumn

Autumn

In September the trees in the gardens begin to put on a dazzling display of colour with the russet browns of the Beech mixing with the yellows of the Lime, Birch and Horse Chestnut. The low Autumn sun shines through the canopy in the early morning and produces an explosion of colour.

The pyrocantha in the shrub border is covered in red berries and together with the native elders, holly, ivy, blackberries, hawthorn and rowan provide a feast of berries for the birds.

By late November the trees have lost their leaves and the park settles into its hibernation period.
