Work Sessions 2021

Thursday 8th April

2 members erected the bird table and cut back hogweed.

Sunday 11th April

Cancelled because of snow.

Sunday 25th April

10 members in three groups, picked up litter, tidied borders, swept paths, watered and cut back shrubs, planted cowslips in the meadow, planted shrubs below Woodend, tidied and planted thrift, bugle, london pride and Erignon in the small rockery near the urn bed.

Sunday 16th May

10 members prepared and sowed an area for wild flowers, weeded the shrub border and put in Osteospernum, Lavender, London Pride and Penstemon plants, tidied borders near the Art Gallery, weeded the paths near Woodend and litter picked.

Thursday 27th May

7 members tidied and weeded part of the long border above the pond

Sunday 13th June

7 members continued weeding the long border, and planted out cranesbills, osteospermum, pink strawberry and rosemary. Various shrub borders below Woodend were weeded and tidied up and three bags of litter collected. plants.

Thursday 24th June

5 members finished weeding the long border

Sunday 8th July

8 members worked on the shrub borders near the Crescent and collected litter

Thursday 22nd July

4 members tidied up the borders below Woodend and collected litter.

Sunday August 8th 

Work session cancelled due to rain.

Saturday August 28th

8 members finished weeding the big rockery, weeded the urn bed rockery and put in various plants - Cranesbills, cowslips and pink strawberries.

Sunday September 19th 

9 members started planting up the shady border by the wall, cut back sycamore, weeded the shrub beds and collected litter

Sunday October 3rd 

Seven members put in more plants in the shady border, put in bulbs, hazel, foxgloves and cowslips above the urn bed, cut back ivy and collected litter.

Sunday October 24th

We had a great work session last Sunday. Sixteen people turned out on a damp morning to put in plants in the wall shade border, daffodils in the azalea walk, shrubs above the urn bed and miniature daffodils and grape hyacinths in the small rockery.

Sunday December 5th 

Six and a half members and Saffy the dog attended the work session - One member was not quite at her best having attended a Christmas Works Do the night before. We were very lucky to hit a brief good weather window so while some removed litter others swept steps and cleared leaves into the wire cages.
