Huntswood Golf Club Thursday 28 April 2022

by Richard Faulkner

After slipping over on the 18th at a wet Mapledurham in February (trying to play an ambitious shot off a bank I should have been nowhere near), it was nice to be back playing again after a couple of months out with a sprained wrist!

It’s fair to say that after blobbing the first and three putting the second I wasn’t expecting to finish the day on 43 points. It was only really on the back nine where I managed to find a rare bit of form - both with the driver and mid irons - to hit most greens in regulation and sink a few putts. I don’t think I’ve played 7 holes in a row at level par before and I can certainly say that form has been short lived based on the couple of rounds I’ve had since!

Thanks to Colin and Trevor for being good company as always (and helping get to the bottom of Aldershot Town’s demise!). Congratulations to Stevie Adams on an impressive 5 foot nearest to the pin on the 2nd and lots of other good scores (including Trevor S and Nigel). Also congratulations to the team comp winners in the morning of Mike, Steve and young Houghton.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable weekend away (the weather is certainly looking good)!
